World news – DANGER: Hydraulic fluid leaks on Ballina Shire street

Another fuel leak was reported by the rural fire department as the northern rivers continue to be saturated with heavy rain.

On Monday March 22, Steve Quinlan, chief of operations for the rural fire department, said a crew was present en route to attend a fuel spill in Newrybar.

Operations Officer Quinlan said the incident was mistakenly recorded as the Hinterland Way on the FiresNearMe website.

He said there have been a number of spilled from fuel and hydraulic fluids, which, along with rain and people not driving in certain conditions, is a recipe for disaster.
