The Marquette Golden Eagles and DePaul Blue Demons meet Tuesday for college basketball at Wintrust Arena.

Marquette hovered around 500 for most of the season and couldn’t quite get over that proverbial hump. The Eagles are 2-1 in their last three games against Butler and North Carolina before falling to UConn on Saturday.
In the 80:62 defeat against UConn, Marquette’s Dawson Garcia was the top scorer with 18 points and eight rebounds in 31 minutes. Justin Lewis was the only other double-digit team player to score 14 points with two rebounds.
Over on the DePaul side they sat at 3–5 p.m. in January and it hasn’t gotten better since then. The demons are 1-7 in their last eight, falling sequentially at St. Johns, Creighton, Butler, Providence, Seton Hall, Creighton, and Georgetown during that time.
In the 68:60 loss to Georgetown on Saturday, DePaul’s Charlie Moore led the team with 22 points, four assists and two rebounds. Ray Salnave was also in double digits with 11 points, two assists and a rebound in 26 minutes on the ground.
The Demons have 1-4 ATS in their last five home games and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 Tuesday games. The Under is 11-1 in DePaul’s last 12 as underdogs and 13-3 in their last 16 overall. Meanwhile, the Eagles are 5-12 ATS favorites in their last 17 overall and 0-4 ATS in their last four as favorites . Marquette has ATS 1-6 in the last seven games on Tuesday and 3-1-1 in the last five games overall.
PICK: I’ll be staying with Marquette, but probably staying away. The last time these teams played, DePaul scored a 68-61 win after gaining a 30-24 halftime advantage. Marquette only shot 35.5 percent in that game but remained competitive on team rebounds (37-37) and assists (12-10). It wasn’t the Eagles’ best effort, but if they can get into the rematch quickly, I like their chances of coverage.
