SEBRING, Florida – The race morning warm-up is at Sebring International Raceway completed. The fans of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship now have their sights set on one of the most revered endurance sports car races in the world.
The 69th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, presented by Advance Auto Parts, is scheduled for 10:10 a.m. CET today carry the green flag. Thirty-seven participants take part in the unique and challenging 17-turn road course of 3.74 miles, which originated on a WWII training airfield.
NBC Sports Group and IMSA Radio provide full coverage of this prestigious race from flag to flag. The TV promotion begins at 10 a.m. on NBCSN, switches to the NBC Sports app and NBCSports.com at noon, and returns to NBCSN for the dramatic 7 p.m. closing times. The entire show will be streamed from start to finish on TrackPass on NBC Sports Gold. The IMSA radio broadcast can be found on IMSA.com, RadioLeMans.com and SiriusXM Radio (Sirius Channel 216, XM 392, Internet 992).
The Whelen Engineering Racing Cadillac No. 31 starts from pole position with the three-time Sebring Twelve Hour winner Pipo Derani at the wheel. He will share the car with co-drivers Felipe Nasr and Mike Conway. After qualifying on Friday, the number 31 was confident that she would not have completed a lap during the warm-up this morning.
The fastest warm-up in the morning was the Meyer Shank Racing No. 60 with the Curb-Agajanian Acura ARX-05 from Dane Cameron with a lap of 1 minute 46.833 seconds. Teammate Olivier Pla starts from fifth in the No. 60, Juan Pablo Montoya is the team’s third driver.
Action Express Racing prepared a replacement tub for the Ally Cadillac DPi-VR No. 48 for today’s race after NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson had overturned the preliminary round at the end of qualifying on Friday. Kamui Kobayashi drove the third fastest overall lap this morning with 1: 48.083 in the No. 48.
