At Goodison, there isn’t much to choose between two high-flyers, but Paul Higham believes the foxes have their badges even without Jamie Vardy …

« Even without Vardy, I still think Maddison and Barnes will show up and show that they are serious title challengers. I will support them to get at 2.77 / 4 win. »

Everton will be without a Premier League game for 15 days before kick-off, a huge gap given the parameters the league is currently operating under. The FA Cup win on Sunday against Sheffield Wednesday was a nice game to free Carlo Ancelotti’s side from the rust.

The break gave Dominic Calvert-Lewin time to recover from an injury and rediscover his scoring opportunity as he ended a six game drought to score against the Owls and finish 595 minutes of football without a goal.

Calvert-Lewin now has 15 for the season and the Toffees look different when he’s at the center of theirs Attack stands. Ancelotti has turned down any title challenge talk but this seems like a season where anything could happen – the Foxes are factored into the mix but a win for Everton will leave them only three behind with two games in hand.

Three points at Goodison Park will lift Everton above neighbors, rivals and champions Liverpool ahead of their trip to Spurs – don’t underestimate how important this will be for players and fans alike.

Brendan Rodgers was of course once in a title challenge, and his Leicester side are in the thick of it after starting an unbeaten run of six games after a 2-0 home loss to Everton in December.

The obvious stumbling block for anything Leicester-related , is the absence of Jamie Vardy, as he is fundamental to the way they play – and neither Kelechi Iheanacho nor his role can Ayoze Perez repeat completely.

Much will then depend on how well James Maddison and Harvey Barnes can keep playing. Both have scored six Premier League goals this season and their job will be to maintain Leicester’s good away record this season, which has seen them lose only once on the road – to Liverpool at Anfield.

Leicester has won at Spurs, Leeds, Arsenal and Man City earlier this season. Only Man Utd have set a better away record and have scored more goals in their travels.

There is little between them as Leicester 2.77 / 4 is only slightly favored to beat Everton 2.915 / 8. They have only played four games between them this season and in head-to-head league meetings they have not shared the points since May 2015.

Traditionally there are goals in these games in which both teams in 14 of the have scored a goal in the last 18 competitions – at Goodison Park there has only been one game in the last 12 where both teams failed to find the net It’s 1.814 / 5 for both teams to score here, which doesn’t make you rich but will likely happen again.

Everton’s batting average fell while Calvert-Lewin was injured and out of shape, but now he’s back a price of 2.56 / 4 to score anytime – and his chances will be vastly improved when Lucas Digne returns as the Frenchman has made five assists in just nine games this season.
James Rodríguez has seven assists in all competitions this season – all of them coming home.

Everton have won 15 of their 23 games so far this season and only need one to match last season’s total. However, Leicester arrives in good shape on Merseyside, especially outside of their home country.

There is no Vardy but Maddison is in great shape having scored eight goals in 17 league games (six, two assists) and in his last three games found the net. He’s 4.3100 / 30 to score against Everton at any time, and in this form it’s worth driving his hot run.

Everton, who can do without the suspended Abdoulaye Doucoure in the midfield engine room, also offers more space for Maddison, and he’s full of confidence right now when facing a team that may still have a touch of rust.

For a touch more worth than Youri Tielemens, it’s worth it at 6.05 / 1 on the Market to be considered for scorers at all times. He is by no means productive, but he has already scored five goals from last season, three of which came from the penalty spot.

The regular penalty taker Vardy is excluded and no Premier League team has received more penalties this season (12 ) or scored (10) as Leicester. Mike Dean will take command of Goodison.

Everton had a nice break, but they have to face a flying team from Leicester, and even without Vardy, Maddison and Barnes will step up and show that they are serious title challengers – me ‘I’ll back her to win at 2.77 / 4.
