Protesters have a truck in the middle of the intersection of Flinders and Streets Swanston and parked on the tram tracks.
Chris Miller of the Department of Transportation says only about six people were involved in the protest, but this is causing big problems.
It comes a week ago of planned protests against the Extinction Rebellion where protesters plan to camp in the CBD.
One of the protesters, Timothy Neville, says he understands that the move will harm companies already in trouble.
« I definitely apologize to to all of the commuters and workers on their way into town next week, « he told Neil Mitchell.
» We don’t want to harass individuals, but this is arguably a last resort. This is un for your children d for them to have a secure future. “
