Fender is expanding its Acoustasonic® guitar family today with the Jazzmaster® and adding the latest hybrid guitar models from the manufacturer to the Stratocaster and Telecaster.

The Jazzmaster has always been a cult favorite of guitarists, from Pete Townshend to Tom Verlaine to Thurston Moore and J. Mascis. The Jazzmaster was introduced in 1959 when Fender was still in the early years. It was one of the earliest forms of Fender, and players loved its unique shape and tremolo string system. The new Acoustasonic line follows the forward-thinking philosophy of founder Leo Fender.

« It would be very easy to just look in the rearview mirror and do Strats and Teles and be a nostalgia-based company, » says Fender Vice President Justin Norvell in the video below. « But that’s really not what the company was founded on, and that’s not what we want to do. »

« Even though I’ve only been with this new Jazzmaster for a short time, I can tell he’s im Studio will have many uses, « said Lindsey Buckingham, award-winning singer-songwriter, guitarist and creative force behind Fleetwood Mac. « I’m looking forward to giving it a little more time to get to know it a little better and to get to know myself a little better. Acoustic guitar has always been my soulmate and alter ego; it brought me to a place where I arguably my own style Whenever I can pursue this orchestral approach, I have. With the American Acoustasonic Jazzmaster you can do just that. «

The well-known guitarist Michael Lemmo takes the Jazzmaster for a spin in the video and goes through a variety of settings and sounds. « I play vintage guitars all day and this one feels like it has a soul, » says Lemmo.

With Acoustasonic technology, Jazzmaster players can combine flawless acoustic and electric tones. The new one Model has four new settings that take advantage of the larger body shape to access warm, natural tones and, like previous models, take advantage of the Acousta’s many voices onic Jazzmaster accessed via the Blend Knob. This simple but elegant control method enables a dramatic change between rich acoustic tones and rough feedback, but with the precision of finding just the right balance somewhere in between. The Acoustasonic Jazzmaster® also offers the most intense electric sound in the Acoustasonic series to date, powered by a powerful humbucking pickup designed by Tim Shaw.

“The culmination of five years of design, construction and refinement of form factor and This guitar’s technology has been a proud journey. The Jazzmaster was made an icon by inventive musicians looking for a guitar that could deliver unique sounds, ”said Billy Martinez, VP Category Manager, Fender – Acoustic and Squier Divisions. “The Acoustasonic Jazzmaster extends this tradition. With three powerful pickups and the Fishman Acoustic Engine, all of which are controlled by a single blend control, the Acoustasonic Jazzmaster now offers the player unmatched sonic versatility. “
