Alex Jones will miss two weeks of The One Show after being forced into self-isolation
The regular host was not in the studio for tonight’s episode, presented by Alex Scott and Gethin Jones
However, she did manage to make an appearance on a video call, where she explained her absence
Speaking to the two presenters, the 43-year-old said: « I’m absolutely drained of not being here
« What happened was that a friend of mine, someone I know outside of work who I saw a few days go by, tested positive for coronavirus
The mother of two insisted: « Now I have had a test and luckily it is negative, my friend is fine too
« But we respect and follow the instructions – I will probably be back to work the following week »
Alex was calling from his kitchen, which Gethin couldn’t help but laugh at
But the star defended her choice of location, laughing: « This is the only photo of my house where there are no toys, there is no food on the floor
« It’s literally the only place that’s sort of tidy, this photo Actually, it’s not very interesting, isn’t it after I spied on everyone’s house »
Alex isn’t the only celebrity forced to self-quarantine as Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall had to appear via a video link in last week’s The Search
Her reps said at the time: “Jade has to self-isolate this week and will therefore assume her mentoring role on Little Mix The Search from home.
