Earlier this month, rumors of new Arctic Monkeys material began to surface after drummer Matt Helders was pictured in a recording studio

Images posted to Instagram by photographer Andreas Neumann show Helders sitting behind drums in a Los Angeles studio, surrounded by a selection of keyboards and amplifiers

Neumann provided little context for the photo, but eagle-eyed fans noticed that he also tagged the Arctic Monkeys Instagram account in the blink of an eye – prompting speculation about the fact that they might be back in the studio

Arctic Monkeys latest album was ‘Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino’ in 2018, which NME called ‘extremely smartly designed product’ in a four-star review
