PureGym apologized after one of its branches announced’ 12 years of slave ‘workout to mark Black History Month

The company’s Luton and Dunstable Gym posted a Facebook post: “Entitled ’12YearsOfSlave’ (after the epic movie) this is our workout of the month designed by @MattSimpt to celebrate the month of the black history

Following negative reactions online, the post was deleted, with PureGym saying it was « totally unacceptable » and « neither endorsed nor approved by the company »

The company said: « PureGym apologizes wholeheartedly for a message regarding Black History Month released today by our gym in Luton & Dunstable

« This post was completely unacceptable, was not approved or approved by the company, and was deleted when it came to our attention
