Boro boss Neil Warnock is set to rotate his side following Friday’s 1-0 defeat by Watford, and several will have a point to prove at the Riverside Stadium.

We’ll have all the build-up as well as in-game analysis and post-match reaction from Warnock – simply stick around and refresh the page for live updates throughout the evening:

Our Boro writer Joe Nicholson has picked the side he thinks could start against Barnsley this evening.

“Their manager is very experienced, I know him and know he has a lot of success and he uses a clear plan.

“We can compete with Boro and I am looking forward to the game and the big challenge that is in front of us in this game.”

“I love the FA Cup but I don’t like this cup. But I’m looking forward to it. The result’s not important but there’s a few lads with something to show me.

“They’ve all been doing well in pre-season so it’s going to be great for me to have a good look at them against good opposition.

“I think they (Barnsley) will play a strong team. They’ve really good movement, the front three and the interchanging, so it’ll be great seeing how certain lads cope in the positions I play them.

“We want to win it, why not? A trip to Chelsea, it’s a great stadium etc it’s just disappointing when I look at the fixtures around the cup.

“We’re going to have to play on a Wednesday night, come back up here, then go down to QPR on a Friday. And then we’ve got Bristol City and Cardiff Tuesday and Saturday the following week. It’s bloody scandalous! »

Barnsley boss Gerhard Struber is also expected to make changes following his side’s 1-0 defeat at home to Luton on Saturday.

Struber said midfielder Callum Styles isn’t 100 per cent but he should be OK after training on Monday, while centre-back Aapo Halme may return following an eye injury.

Neil Warnock is expected to make several changes for tonight’s match following Friday’s 1-0 defeat at Watford.

The Boro boss wants to have a closer look at his squad and is set to hand starts to Marc Bola, Hayden Coulson, Nathan Wood, Dael Fry and Lewis Wing.

Marcus Bettinelli may keep his place in goal as Dejan Stojanovic and Aynsley Pears have been struggling with illness.

Boro are back in action today, with Neil Warnock’s side set to face Barnsley in the Carabao Cup.

We’ll have all the build-up ahead of the 6pm kick-off as well as in-game analysis and post-match reaction from the Riverside.
