Substitute Billy Sharp scored a late penalty to give Sheffield United their first point of the season in a draw with Fulham in the Premier League
Sharp shot from the spot after Ademola Lookman’s excellent solo effort put visitors in the lead at Bramall Lane
The Fulham winger, who was making his first start for the club, jumped past two players before taking a left-footed shot past Blades goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale
And it was Mitrovic who then fouled Robinson inside Fulham’s box, with the ruling from the video assistant referee
The draw means that both teams have their first point of the season, after losing their first four games
Scott Parker filled his Fulham squad of young talent with something to prove and gave the first starts to three players who have represented England at different levels
Chelsea-loaned Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Manchester City-signed defender Tosin Adarabioyo made their debuts, but it was Lookman who nearly stole the show
The 22-year-old has had an enigmatic career so far, failing to secure a place at Everton and then RB Leipzig
He impressed Parker with a lively appearance on the bench against Wolves last time around and superbly scored his first Premier League goal in three years on Sunday
The winger cut inside Sander Berge before making his way into the penalty area and driving a smart finish past Ramsdale with 13 minutes remaining
Mitrovic had missed the place earlier in the half, then left late due to poor delivery from Lookman
In between those occasions, the forward gave a penalty to the other end when he caught up with Sheffield United defender Robinson – becoming the first player to miss and kick in the same Premier League game from Mikel Arteta for Arsenal in November 2012
The result was enough to bring Fulham down from the bottom of the Premier League table to 19th place
Chris Wilder has done wonders at Sheffield United, guiding the Blades to their best league result in 45 years when they return to the Premier League last season
Oliver McBurnie arguably should have opened the scoring in the first half, but Fulham goalkeeper Alphonse Areola reacted swiftly to shove his header at close range far from goal
McBurnie also threw a wide header from Chris Basham’s cross, and Areola then comfortably saved from an effort from Enda Stevens
The Blades believed they had taken the lead when defender Fulham Adarabioyo spun the ball into his own goal, but Berge was offside as he slid the ball over the goal
Wilder signed Rhian Brewster, 20, who signed the club’s record for his debut just under half an hour from the end, but it was experienced forward Sharp who saved a point
The 34-year-old got it right with his penalty to score Sheffield United’s first goal at Bramall Lane in 368 minutes of Premier League football
The draw lifts Wilder’s side out of the relegation zone due to the goal difference, but things don’t get any easier for them with their next three games against Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea
Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder told Match of the Day: « We were a bit more like our old timers in the first half and had control of the game, but we were not like our elders in the second half They dominated the second half
« It’s a bit of a battle right now, a bit tough, but happy to get something out of the game
« I’m not going to complain about the (penalty) decision because we talked about some that have faced off against us this season, so we had a bit of luck today. We’ll take that and I think that it is due «
Scott Parker, Fulham boss, told Match of the Day: « I thought in the second half we were exceptional. In the first half we came up with a bit of a plan, we had to tinker with things at half-time and the players responded very well
« The second half I saw a dynamic team, a team that could create chances and I was overall happy in that sense There is still a lot of learning and a lot of improvement to be done – a young team with young players arriving and making their debut
« The team is going in the right direction, not just today The last performance was also very enjoyable Where we were in the first three games where we had our struggles, we seem to get out of that and push in the right direction «
Sheffield United will visit Liverpool on Saturday (kick off 8 p.m. BST), while Fulham will host Crystal Palace earlier today (3 p.m.)
