She’s one of the favorites to be crowned this year’s Strictly Come Dancing champion after wowing judges and home audiences with her red dance steps
Caroline Quentin, who dreamed of becoming a ballerina as a child, now fulfills her dream of dancing by heading to the ballroom with her professional partner, Johannes Radebe
Last week, Men star Behaving Badly took home 21 points for their stunning Pase Doble and this week the couple have high hopes to score even higher
She told Heat magazine: « You know when you laugh a lot and get physically quite weak? What I shouldn’t do is make him laugh before he lifts me up, because I don’t want him to let me down
« What he doesn’t know is that at my age I have a pretty weak bladder If I laugh too much he might pay the price, say it like that »
The 60-year-old Jonathan Creek star was only 16 when she was forced to give up her dream of becoming a dancer when her father left home and her mother fell ill
Caroline explained: « I was a precociously good dancer Hard to imagine looking at myself now I was good at it
« The school I went to was a bit like the Royal Ballet school I was not sent because I was going to meet the right people, I was there to learn to dance, which is really painful and tiring
« I felt completely upset that I couldn’t continue with the ballet – it broke my heart and I’m still sad about it
« It was my passion, something I would have done even if I hadn’t been paid for it. I can see now that it was kind of crazy, and in a way I was probably saved
« I had a great career for someone who had no intention of becoming an actor, but it was a detour – a big detour, but I still can’t bring myself to see Black Swan «
The Blue Murder star also went through a heartbreaking divorce from her first husband, comedian Paul Merton
« I didn’t know my marriage was going badly until it ended, really, » she once told The Guardian
To make matters worse, she remembers being followed by photographers, telling the Independent, « It’s such a terrible time, when you feel so vulnerable and so shit as a person, and then that is coming «
Paul, 63, then moved on with Sarah Parkinson, who had been Caroline’s understudy during the three-month London part of The Live Bed Show
He told The Guardian at that point they were « just talking » but after his marriage was over, Paul and writer and producer Sarah got together and were unofficially married at the Maldives in 2000
But then, a year after her divorce, Caroline met Sam Farmer, who worked as a runner and is 11 years younger, on the set of Men Behaving Badly
Caroline told Woman and Home: « » I didn’t believe in love at first sight until I saw Sam We were on set for Men Behaving Badly, it was raining in the rain and this young man extremely handsome with a baseball cap came up to me and said, can I have you breakfast? «
« I was like ‘thanks, but you can get me something else’ I asked one of the girls on set who he was and she told me he was the new runner »
Then four days after their chance meeting, Sam again asked Caroline to go out in front of her co-stars, Martin Clunes and Neil Morrissey, which she said was « incredibly brave »
Less than a year after their first date at a restaurant in Soho, Caroline was pregnant with their daughter Emily
She said: « You might have read stories about him being my kid, but I looked at him and had a Sam Taylor-Wood moment I just thought » Yum ! « I still do now »
