UK crowdfunding platform Crowdcube today announced a merger deal with Seedrs with the aim of creating one of the largest private equity markets The merger is expected to benefit investors with services and enhanced returns delivered by Crowdcube and Seedrs investment platforms Seedrs CEO Jeff Kelisky will assume the role of CEO of the merged company while Darren Westlake, CEO and co-founder of Crowdcube will assume the role of executive chairman

The merged company aims to offer improved products to make it easier for companies to obtain growth finance and for investors to choose from a wider range of investment opportunities with better investment tools

The companies said the merger would be structured as an acquisition by Crowdcube of all of the outstanding share capital of Seedrs Limited through a plan of arrangement Existing Crowdcube shareholders and option holders will own 60% of the combined company, and existing Seedrs shareholders and option holders will own 40% of the combined company
