But much like the negotiators who had promised an imminent deal for almost a day, he flattered himself to be wrong when he gently chased a pigeon, pounced on it – and then let it slip out of his grasp.
Larry, officially the « chief moult of the cabinet », has lived on Downing Street since 2011.
He was recruited by Battersea Dogs & Cats Home and there is a picture of him on the government website sitting on the cabinet table with a British flag bowed around his neck.
« Larry spends his days welcoming guests into the house, checking security, and testing antique furniture for nap quality, » the website says.
“One of his daily tasks is to consider a solution for the mouse occupancy of the house. Larry says this is still in the tactical planning phase. . ”
