« It also stores fracked gas from the United States Given the widely alleged ‘ban’ on fracking in Scotland, the fact that fracked gas that harms communities around the world is still being dealt with here is scandalously hypocritical
« We are here to denounce the climate destruction caused by Ineos We are running out of time as the climate crisis is already affecting so many people in the south of the planet »
Campaigners held up banners reading ‘No future in fossil fuels’ and ‘Climate justice = social justice’
Extinction Rebellion Scotland said safety precautions for Covid-19 were being taken, including face masks, social distancing and the use of hand sanitizer, while participating activists use a tracking app and location
A demonstration is also due to take place outside Ineos’ headquarters in London on Friday morning
Meg Peyton Jones, from Edinburgh, said: « It is ten years after Scotland’s first Climate Act, and yet factories like Grangemouth are still expanding

A Scottish Police spokesperson said: ‘Officers are currently witnessing a peaceful protest at Bo’ness Road and Inchyra Road in Grangemouth
