Viewers of the Apprentices were heartbroken but full of fond memories as the show paid tribute to one of its most famous contenders – Stuart Baggs – who sadly passed away five years ago

With no new series from the hit BBC1 show this year due to the coronavirus, the channel is treating fans to all things hiring and firing a series of episodes’ best of, which premiered on Thursday evening

The hour-long show featured some of The Apprentice’s memorable contestants over the years, since its debut in 2005

Among those who granted airtime on Thursday were the likes of Series 2 finalist Ruth Badger, 2019 fan favorite Thomas Skinner and Stuart ‘The Brand’ Baggs, who gave to series 6 some of its defining moments

Stuart was only 21 when he appeared on the show and there was a wave of grief when he passed away in 2015, aged 27

Fans of Lord Sugar and Apprentice were full of respect for him during a tribute broadcast as part of the episode

Remembering Stuart, Lord Sugar said: « He could talk with the hind legs of a donkey He was quite funny, he made me laugh for once in the conference room

« Stuart was one of our most memorable characters and sadly he passed away But he will never be forgotten. What a great character »

Viewers inundated Twitter with their tributes to Stuart Upon seeing the tribute, one of them posted: « Watching the Apprentice’s best bits show The world is a lesser place without Stuart Baggs He was brilliant « , and another posted: » Ah Stuart Baggs and his field of ponies What an incredible candidate he was « 

Another, shocked to learn of his passing, wrote: « OMG! Didn’t realize Stuart Baggs had passed How sad »
