World famous toy store Hamleys brings its magic to the northeast it has emerged
Hamleys, dubbed the ‘best toy store in the world’, announced the opening of a brand new pop-up store at the Metrocentre
The popular retailer will occupy more than 2,000 square feet in the Green Mall of the Gateshead shopping and entertainment complex, where it promises an exciting store concept with gaming at the center of the stage
The firm says shoppers will be able to enter a magical toy wonderland filled with toys ranging from traditional to high-tech, from games and puzzles to arts and crafts, including famous brands such as Lego, Barbie , Playmobil and LOL
Its exclusive Hamleys toys, including their iconic Hamleys teddy bear, are also heading to the region

The new pop-up store is good news for the shopping destination, which reopened its stores in June after the lockdown
Hamleys’ arrival follows the recent opening of Next Beauty & Home, which took over the former Debenhams store with a beauty, home and lifestyle offer for women
Suit Direct also opened its flagship store at the Metrocentre this month, selling brands such as Marc Darcy, Ben Sherman and Antique Rogue
Hamleys opened in London in 1760 and moved to its flagship store on Regent Street in 1881
