The Dons boss, a former Hull City player, felt his Dons were unhappy to lose 1-0 to a side that had moved the division with a third straight home success
AFC Wimbledon boss Glyn Hodges felt Tuesday night’s 1-0 loss to Hull City was a harsh reflection on his team’s display at KCOM stadium
The former City midfielder, however, admitted his side received a tough lesson from the Tigers from Grant McCann, after Keane Lewis-Potter directed the game’s only goal in the stoppage time at the end of the first half of some clear chances
The Hodges Dons were undefeated on their travels ahead of their visit to KCOM, offering a solid rearguard display, but were unable to properly test Tigers goaltender Matt Ingram, as he retained a third straight clean sheet at home, and sixth so far in the league
« Some of our football games were great We created the two best chances in the first half, but we have to take one of them that comes our way, » said Hodges
« It was a bad goal for us to concede and we must learn from it
« We certainly learned a great lesson We were too nice We are nice boys and we have to take that ugly side of what they throw at you »
Hodges added: « Other than that turn that led to the goal, I don’t remember Connal (Trueman) having any real saves to make throughout the game.
« I thought it was a good game, but it was a game that left you scratching your head because we deserved something »
