strict Come Dancing 2020 star Bill Bailey was strutting his stuff around the dance floor, breaking hearts everywhere as he starred on the popular BBC One.

In an interview with The Independent, the 55-year-old, originally from Kinsham, revealed the details surrounding the first night he set eyes on his wife, according to Mirror Reports..

Bell met his wife Christine for the first time in 1987 at one of his parties, and they are still married to this day..

«  She was wearing that long, frilly coat, and she realized she was a free spirit and did whatever she wanted..

« We ended up chatting away, everyone went to a party, and she puts me on her sofa.

The Strictly Star bought her flowers to say thank you, but only a year later he will be able to woo Christine by writing her letters.. .

Bill continued, “I didn’t have a computer to send email, and dialing was not easy.. It was very old fashioned.

It wasn’t until 10 years later that they decided to marry when Bill and Christine were traveling around Asia.

Bell explained: “We were traveling all over Asia and sailing to a place called Panda which had a beautiful lake and a smoke volcano on one side, a Dutch colonial fortress, an old church, and the remains of a small town on the other side.

And that’s not the only reason Indonesia has a soft spot for a couple – they had a son in 2003 that they decided to name after the baby they met on their travels: Dax.

In an interview with The Guardian, Bell explained the meaning behind their child’s name. He said, « Contrary to popular belief, Dax is not named after the Star Trek character.

“They had a son named Dax and we always associated him with being in Indonesia and we always said, ‘If we had a baby, that would be running’.

“At the same time, I would have preferred to lose track of the various sub-elements of Star Trek and not fully realize that Dax was also a name for a character in Deep Space Nine until someone told me.

And earlier this year, Bell, who has partnered with Oti Mabuse at Strictly, revealed to The Mirror that the way his son has appeared is his biggest achievement.

Bell grew up in a home below Wellsway in Keynsham. In 2009, he told The Independent how it had fun throwing apples into the river with his cousin.
