Strictly Come Dancing pro Janette Manrara shared a deeply personal message ahead of the first live show as she is forced to live apart from husband Aljaz Skorjanec for the first time in years

Janette, 36, will make her dance debut with her famous partner HRVY this evening as they perform a Jive to Faith feat by Stevie Wonder Ariana Grande

This year, professional and celebrity partners are in the Close Contact Cohort (CCC), which means that half of the couple must live alone to be able to dance together in the midst of the pandemic

As a result, Janette and Aljaz had to live apart for the first time since their fiancée in 2015, then got married in 2017

Ahead of tonight’s live show, Janette shared a post on Instagram explaining that she was « honored » to be on the show and « to be a part of something bigger, something the UK needs at this very difficult time ”

Janette, who joined Strictly in 2013, also said this series will find « a special place in her heart forever »

She wrote: « A bit of a team deep (sorry) I thought about our first show tomorrow (every thought was good) and wanted to share them with all of you @bbcstrictly Coming back to our screens was made possible by the hard work and dedication of so many people

« All of this to make sure we provide people with healthy, happy, fun and family entertainment! We all need to get away from it all, we all need to smile, we all need to feel joy in our hearts #Strictly done this for so many @hrvy and me, & all pros, celebrities, judges, hosts &, & all people involved in making this show, are about to embark on a journey that will be so special

« Knowing that I am part of something bigger, something the UK needs right now at this very difficult time makes me truly humble I cannot express the happiness this thought brings to my heart and to my soul

« Knowing that dance can do that for people is just amazing! I always loved being on stage playing, & I never take a moment for granted But this show, this moment that start tomorrow, will forever keep one of the most special places in my heart So tomorrow night, LET’S DANCE !!!!

« To all of the attendees (especially to my gorgeous @hrvy) good luck & leave your heart on that special ballroom floor! And to all of you who watch, enjoy, and get lost in the music with us! Everything happens FOR YOU! And as the good old saying goes #keepdancing «

Nicola Adams, who is part of the show’s first gay couple, also commented with a heart-shaped emoji and « 100% »
