The United boss has been criticized for his decision to repeatedly leave Donny van de Beek on the bench after his arrival from Ajax

But Solskjaer said early involvement of new players depended on different circumstances

« First of all, I don’t care what credits I get or don’t get [for signing players], » he said. « It’s not my job to ‘to get credit or not for that

« But different players take different time to adjust Some players go straight into a squad and it’s like they’ve never been apart Some players may need a little time to gel It’s just different circumstances

« I think we signed well, I am very happy with the signings we made, I think they all had an impact These are players that we have been targeting for a little while and I am happy with that «

Mason Greenwood was left out of Gareth Southgate’s final squad after breaking Covid-19 protocol with Manchester City’s Phil Foden when England faced Iceland in September

But Solskjaer refused to look into the teenager’s future in England, instead backing Southgate to choose the one he saw fit

« Well it’s Gareth’s decision who he wants on his team and I had a really good conversation with him before the last team meeting, » Solskjaer said

« I don’t want to interfere It is his decision which he chooses of course and if he wants to choose one of my players, they are available of course

« I am full of admiration for the way Gareth manages the England team and I think he has done a fantastic job. I will let him focus on his work and I on mine »
