The announcement of the United and England superstar’s latest project comes less than two weeks after Boris Johnson agreed to provide free school meals during the winter holidays at another turn – a reason Rashford has been campaigning for months

The government last month flogged Conservative MPs to vote against a Labor proposal in the House of Commons calling for an extension of the provision of free school meals after the Rashford campaign..

Rashford said he was « very proud » of those who united behind his campaign and that he was « overwhelmed with sympathy and understanding », and promised his supporters to « fight for the rest of my life » to end child hunger in the UK.

In a statement released earlier this month, he said: “After the match today, I had a good conversation with the Prime Minister to better understand the proposed plan, and I very much welcome the steps that have been taken to combat child food poverty in the UK.

« There is still a lot more to do, and my immediate interest is roughly 1. 7 million children miss free school meals, vacation benefits, and healthy start vouchers because their family’s income is not low enough, but the intention shown by the government today is only positive and they should be recognized for that..

Funds will pay for the Covid Winter Grant to support families throughout the season while the holiday activities and food program will be extended to include Easter, Summer and Christmas holidays in 2021, the Department of Labor and Pensions (DWP) announced.

As part of the package, the Healthy Start payment – which helps expectant mothers and those with low-income young children who receive benefits for purchasing fresh fruits and vegetables – is set to rise from £ 3. £ 10 to £ 4. 25 weeks from April 2021.
