World news – GB – Matthew McConaughey shares his philosophy on parenting and how Hollywood left the green light on his Oscar win in a new book

. . Matthew McConaughey shares stories about his childhood, family, and career in his new book, "Greenlights". "

. .

With a career spanning more than 20 years, fans may feel they know Matthew McConaughey. But in his new book, « Greenlights, » the Oscar-winning actor shares the specific and sometimes terrible stories that shaped him as a person.. Some might call it a diary. McConaughey, 51, points out that it’s more of a rulebook.

« It’s more like a policy book, » he tells Yahoo Life. “I found consistent approaches that I had to live by that gave me more green lights in life.

A native of Ovaldi, Tex. McConaughey grew up with two older brothers and parents who divorced twice and married three times. Greenlights details his adventurous childhood, teen oddities, and how his parents’ troubled relationship affected his home life.. Remembering his formative years in these details became possible by re-reading the diary he kept from the age of 18.

“I was embarrassed reading about times when I was sure I would be an arrogant little P-R-I-C-K, sir who knows everything. I went back and read it and saw all these things, « McConaughey jokes. «  But most of the time I looked at, thinking I would be embarrassed about it, I was actually laughing.

“Without this arrogance, I don’t know if I would have the confidence to put myself in some situations where I learned a better lesson,” McConaughey adds..

The search for knowledge is a theme throughout the book, and McConaughey has gone to great lengths to find answers. Two of the most striking stories in the book illustrate McConaughey’s individual spiritual journeys to Brazil and Mali. He proceeded to both after experiencing the same wet dream.

McConaughey said:

“I think it’s the spiritual gift that came my way. «  Hey, wet dreams versus nightmare, I think we all know which one to take on.

When he was awake, many of McConaughey’s career dreams also began to come true. After his breakout role in Dazed and Confused, the leading man has landed roles in romantic comedies such as The Wedding Planner and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days..

« I was a go-to rom-com guy, I loved doing both, they paid me big. I was the shirtless guy on the beach, and these spoilers were paying for the house on the beaches I wore shirtless. . . Guilty, « McConaughey admits.

Then he started craving more dramatic roles, but found it difficult to find those offers. McConaughey discovered that the only way to get the scenarios he wanted was to turn down the romantic comedy spree he was on – but that was easier said than done..

« You came to me with rom-com and started with a $ 5 million bid and worked his way up to a $ 8 million bid, so I said no; $ 10 million bid. I said no; McConaughey said, » I bid $ 12 million..

That offer came to $ 14. 5 million, which McConaughey eventually refused. After two years away from Hollywood, casting McConaughey in a dramatic role became a new idea for studios. What followed were roles in projects like The Lincoln Lawyer, The Paperboy, Magic Mike, and True Detective..

“So I didn’t brand it, and I said no, and luckily I ended up being able to rebrand and do the work I wanted to do,” McConaughey said .

« McConaissance » (a term McConaughey reveals to have invented him) earned him an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role at the Dallas Buyers Club – having hit a goal on the list of things he wrote nearly 22 years ago.

“I wrote that in 1992. I found that when I was writing this book, in my diary, I forgot that I wrote any of it, but I clearly didn’t forget when I look at it, because I have accomplished or been in the middle of achieving most of these goals ”.

Another item on that to-do list was becoming a father, and it’s the role McConaughey says he felt he was destined to play.. He and his wife Camilla Alves are raising Levi, Veda, and Livingston to foster their individuality. But there are some lessons he wants to learn.

« We don’t allow the word » can’t, « says McConaughey. “Believe that you can, love does not hate, tell the truth, do not lie.

Investigators also spoke to friends and family, who revealed that the 17-year-old had gone « to an area in Newark where her ex-boyfriend Noah was found. ». When authorities went to the « wooded area » behind Maclary Elementary School, they found an aluminum baseball bat, drops of blood, and Sparrow’s clothing, according to court documents. Prosecutors stated that Sharp used a bat to beat Sparrow to death – and that Stalchinsky planned to kill with the 19-year-old. An autopsy report confirmed that Sparrow died of severe trauma to the head. It’s not immediately clear why Stalkinsky helped Sharp with the horrific crime. But according to the Prosecutor A.. J. Roop, Stalczynski, and Sparrow were classmates at Newark High School and had « known each other for some time. ». « I think their relationship goes back several years, » said Rob, according to Delaware Online.. “I won’t go into much more than that, or what the situation has been up to lately, but they were acquaintances, and they knew each other.. Sparrow’s grandfather, Tom Mason, said at a vigil last month: « I think such a bright light turns off at such a young age meaninglessly. ». “This was not a disease. This wasn’t even a car accident. It was an act of violence. It is unimaginable. Although prosecutors do not state in court documents why Sharp wanted to kill his ex-girlfriend, they reveal that the 19-year-old confessed that the crime was premeditated and that he and Stalzinski killed Sparrow « in the afternoon / evening hours. » That day the teenager disappeared. On Tuesday, Jennings stressed that his office cannot reveal any possible motives or additional details about the horrific crime because prosecutors are « morally restrained, for good reason. ». « We want to make sure that fair trial rights are upheld, and quite frankly, we can’t imagine how painful this would be for Madison’s family and friends, » Jennings said.. .
