Five new faces will host shows starting in January, but Huw Stevens, Phil Taggart and Dev are all leaving

In great upheaval, Greg James returns to Breakfast five days a week, while Dev, Phil Taggart and Huw Stevens all leave

Three new names – Joel Mitchell, Mollie Finn and Fee Mak – will take turns hosting the early morning breakfast on Friday

Sian Eleri will present Chillest Show on Radio 1 and Gemma Bradley will host BBC Music Introducing on Radio 1

« This is a really exciting time for Radio 1 as we prepare to welcome the next generation of talent, » says Aled Haydn Jones, Director of Radio 1

« Sian and Gemma are going to bring some brilliant energy to our weekend line-up, and with our new Friday morning rotation, we’re going to be hearing some fantastic new presenters over the next few months »

Sian currently presents on BBC Radio Cymru, while Gemma joined BBC Radio Ulster in 2019

Joel, Fee and Sian all presented their first shows on Radio 1 in 2019, when they applied, along with over 1,000 others, to host a Christmas slot

« I spent the time of my life covering the incredible Phil Taggart at the Chillest Show last Christmas, so having the chance to come back and be part of the family means everything to me, » Sian says. p>

And speaking of Greg, it’s the first time he’s been back on Fridays since 2018

« Listeners have been calling me ‘part-time’ for two years for dropping them off on Fridays, so it’s about time I put in a shift and be with them all week, » says- he

Greg’s return to Fridays means Matt and Mollie move to the slot from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday-Sunday

Huw Stephens first appeared on Radio 1 over 20 years ago when he presented the Session in Wales and said he « loved every minute »

As the host of BBC Music Introducing, he championed some of the show’s biggest hits including Celeste, Arlo Parks and Little Simz

Phil Taggart leaves after seven years with the station and was the first host of Radio 1’s Chillest Show He will continue to present with BBC Radio Ulster and says he is « happy to have represented the Northern Irish on the BBC »
