Simon Cowell ‘feels good’ as he recovers from back surgery and focuses on ‘best form’ for his big comeback for BGT in 2021
The 61-year-old music mogul was rushed to hospital in early August when he fell from his e-bike while taking a test drive at his home in Malibu
It comes as the star could be ‘incapacitated’ for up to six months due to his injury, reports The Sun

A source told MailOnline: ‘Medics advised Simon not to return to the final for the final He walks a lot, swims and feels great – but is focusing on the best form for the start of the shoot of Britain’s Got Talent 2021 in January’
However, The Sun reported that it had been a ‘tough few weeks’, with Simon initially believing he would have recovered from the procedure in a few weeks.
A source told the post: ‘Instead, he had a setback from surgery to fuse two vertebrae and it turned out to be more complicated than a standard break’
They added: ‘But he is also quite conceited and the idea of going on national television without studio makeup, and under heavy medication, was not appealing. So unfortunately he had to refuse requests from producers [BGT] ‘

And despite the alleged complications, Simon appears to be keeping his spirits up with his friend Sinitta, 51, taking stock of his progress at the end of September
Speaking to Entertainment Daily, Sinitta said: ‘It was a serious accident So for people who love her like me it was really, really scary
Since injuring his back, Simon has had to withdraw from his Britain’s Got Talent and America’s Got Talent shows because he took time out of the spotlight to recover
He was hoping he was well enough to film the BGT Christmas Special, but it was recently revealed that he was forced to retire
Sources say the star cannot travel to the UK from her Los Angeles home to film the special in October, after breaking her back in an electric bike accident
A source told The Sun that Diversity’s Ashley Banjo is set to replace Simon in a non-competitive festive special, which will see BGT’s biggest stars take to the stage to entertain viewers
They said: ‘Simon was hoping he would be good enough to fly from Los Angeles to UK for the show special, but he had to withdraw
‘Plus the new lockdown measures – and the fact that he had to fly two weeks before the show to be able to quarantine himself in advance – made it even more difficult for him to make the trip

Simon is also expected to lend his support to the struggling theater industry with a star-studded West End performance in Britain’s Got Talent finale on Saturday
The performance – which will be broadcast live – will feature stage stars such as Michael Ball, Matt Lucas and even Amanda Holden herself, performing songs from iconic musicals such as Les Miserables and The Phantom of opera
The theater industry has been one of the hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, with many venues still closed after being forced to close in March
After seven months of blackout, 60 artists have come together to discuss the dazzling lights of the West End, including Michael Ball, Matt Lucas, Carrie Hope Fletcher, John Owen-Jones, Shan Ako, Killian Donnelly, Zizi Strallen and Charlie Stemp
BGT’s grand finale airs on Saturday, with 10 artists vying for the £ 250,000 prize and the chance to perform at the Royal Variety Show
The series, which resumed filming last month, is set to end in an exciting way with five acts voted on by the judges so far confirmed to star in the final
Five publicly voted acts across the series will face off variety act Steve Royle, dance duo Aaron and Jasmine, Magical Bones magician, singer and comedy performer Jon Courtenay; and comedian, Nabil Abdulrashid
