The Cambridge United fan died in his sleep at his home in Mildenhall, Suffolk in the early hours of Wednesday, his wife Nicole said
Ms Dobbin said her husband’s death came as a shock as he had been « himself, laughing and smiling the day before »

Detective Inspector Martin Pasmore, who investigated the attack, said the men were like a « pack of animals »
In a statement Detective Inspector Stephen Jennings of Essex Police said: « Our hearts are with Simon’s family and friends at this very difficult time
« We will review the original investigation to determine whether we need to take further action »
M’s family Dobbin campaigned for the introduction of ‘Simon’s Law’, to force life payments to the NHS from those convicted of violent disorder
In February, Ms Dobbin said Justice Secretary Robert Buckland told her the idea was unrealistic, but that he was considering charging violent offenders for their time in prison
The fate of M Dobbin gained national attention after his home was adapted and remodeled by the BBC’s DIY SOS team The show aired in January 2019
