The iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol was recreated in sponge by an engineer who « just wanted to do it right » in the latest episode of Britain’s Great Bake Off: An Extra Slice

The audience cheered enthusiastically when John, who did not give his last name, showed his first cooking on national television last night

John hasn’t done anything before, but that didn’t stop him from being judged by Jo Brand’s co-host Tom Allen

But it didn’t take long to find out how John was able to recreate the bridge, which has spanned the Avon Gorge since 1864, with such expertise

By now all eyes in the Channel 4 studio were on John or modestly said, « I’ve never done anything before and I’ve been conned into making a bake, and that’s supposed to be my version. of the Clifton Suspension Bridge « 

The audience erupted into applause before Tom added, « It sounds very structurally sound, what do you do for a living? »

Tom was not expecting this response and added, “Did you make designs for a cake? John, you are such an engineer

Before Tom jokes: « You mustn’t you, such a guy right, couldn’t make a mistake, don’t show your weaknesses and vulnerabilities, when are you going to let him out? Are you going to be vulnerable? When are you going to make a mistake? Denise (a woman to John’s right), what do you advise her?
