Following Rishi Sunak’s controversial comments on the post, the UK government has implemented a new career test
The UK government is called in after launching a new career test that tells you exactly what job you should be in
Yesterday (October 6) Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak faced a huge backlash after suggesting musicians, artists and actors find new forms of employment. He said: “I can’t claim that everyone can do the exact same job they did at the start of this crisis That’s why we have invested a lot of resources to try to create new opportunities «
While it’s unclear exactly what these new opportunities are, there is now a government test that gives you career advice
The test itself takes about five minutes to complete and it gives you a list of general statements and you have to say you strongly agree, agree, it depends, disagree or strongly disagree with them When you complete the test, it gives you examples of areas you should be working in, such as travel and tourism, teaching and education, and science and research
You can then answer other questions to get specific jobs For example, the travel and tourism section includes jobs such as resort representative, hotel porter and museum assistant The test also tells you the average salary for the jobs it recommends, as well as how many hours you’re supposed to work each week.
It’s safe to say that people are not impressed with the results People run the quiz to suggest jobs that would take them years to qualify and don’t even ask what people’s personal interests are Not to mention many of the suggested jobs are the ones people are currently unable to do due to the coronavirus pandemic
