Labor braces for results of human rights inquiry into how they handled the anti-Semitism crisis that has divided the party

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) report, to be released on Thursday, follows years of complaints about how allegations of anti-Semitism have been handled under the leadership by Jeremy Corbyn

It comes as Marcus Rashford has said he « can’t stop smiling » as his petition to extend free meals during school holidays has passed a million signatures The government has insisted that he was examining how holiday clubs could be used to feed hungry children

Dame Louise Ellman, the former MP who left Labor following Jeremy Corbyn’s handling of anti-Semitism, said she wanted the old party leadership to be « made unnecessary »

Before the publication of the report of the Commission for Equality and Human Rights in the party, she told Radio 4’s Today program that the work was « not yet here » under the leadership of new leader Sir Keir Starmer

She said: « I would like to see changes so that the people who were responsible at the management level for creating this appalling situation are irrelevant
