It was an interesting move by KSW to put former middleweight champion Mamed Khalidov in a title fight against Scott Askham Khalidov entered the fight on a three-game losing streak, the most recent loss to Askham in December 2019 But, a brutal header later, Khalidov is champion again and maybe got the KO of the year
Khalidov attacked with a combination of punches in the opening moments of the bout, all of which missed Askham But, with Askham falling back, Khalidov launched a jumping kick that saw his right foot land clean to the side. from Askham’s head, sending him collapsing on the canvas
Khalidov followed with a few more punches to the ground, but Askham was already finished and Khalidov regained the title he first won in 2015 Askham was on his feet after the referee stopped the fight , returning to his corner following the devastating defeat
With the win, Khalidov’s career record now stands at 34-7-2 Ahead of his recent losing slippage of three fights, he had participated in a 15-fight unbeaten streak dating back to 2010
