Honor is a new two-part drama based on the real-life’ honor killing ‘of Mitcham native Banaz Mahmod
The series will tell the story of Mahmod and the subsequent police murder investigation
Actress Keeley Hawes will play Chief Detective Inspector Caroline Goode, who received the Queen’s Police Medal for her investigation of the 20-year-old missing
She brought five evil killers to justice in the terrible true story of the young Londoner murdered for falling in love with the wrong man
Goode had searched for Banaz Mahmod for three long months and found her tragically dead and buried in a suitcase in the garden of a house in Birmingham
Mahmod asked the police for help five times before she was killed, but her story was not believed. She was later murdered by members of her own family

Honor will air on ITV at 9 p.m. tonight (September 28) with the second episode to follow tomorrow night
The drama is written by Gwyneth Hughes of Vanity Fair and directed by Richard Laxton and Mrs. Wilson Keeley was also an executive producer
