Johnny Gargano challenged North American NXT champion Damian Priest in what was determined to be a devil’s playground match thanks to the spinning of the wheel that does a bargain trick
The match was the opening contest for The Priest Has Changed His Look as he wears normal tights and gloves The Gadget was a Devil’s Playground Match, which was essentially a Falls Count Anywhere contest
If you remember correctly, this was a rematch of the NXT TakeOver 31 event earlier this month which saw Priest successfully retain the title against Gargano
The match was good because WWE gave them plenty of time It was better than their previous match despite the commercials which usually hurts a match They used various weapons and fought around the facility
Towards the end of the match someone disguised as Scream hit Priest with a pipe and Gargano hit a DDT for Priest The mysterious person walked away handing a gravestone to Gargano and hitting the priest with it , which made him fly from a stage and into a mini house Gargano won the title

Candice LeRae challenged NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai in what was determined to be a game of tables, ladders and scares thanks to the spinning wheel doing a trick
WWE kept this fight for the main event slot, which had about 8 minutes of overrun in order to increase viewership while taking on AEW Dynamite It was essentially a TLC match
Obviously they were using tables, ladders and chairs Io hit a moonsault on the top rope, but LeRae shifted and she crashed into a stack of chairs Moments later, Io hit a suplex at LeRae on an open chair Io missed a knee strike in the corner and crashed into a ladder, which fell on her
LeRae slammed a neckbreaker from the apron across two tables A mysterious person came out again and helped LeRae up the ranks, but Shotzi Blackheart came through and attacked the mysterious person by hitting an electric chair on a stack of chairs Io set up a ladder next to LeRae only to push her off a ladder over the top rope which crashes and breaks a ladder Io retained the title

The two stars have argued in recent weeks with Gonzalez on several occasions in Ripley’s affairs Ripley remains in a wait-and-see pattern and maybe with this feud over she can move on to the title image though. that WWE has been pushing Ember Moon since returning to NXT TakeOver 31
Some might say that Ripley fell dramatically before the COVID-19 pandemic where she was the top star in the promotion Maybe WWE can put her on the right track as it doesn’t seem likely that she go to main list
An interesting match with a special appearance by Michael Hayes stepping out of a van It wasn’t just a full match but rather a movie contest that spanned the series at one point Grimes was stuck in a house with Lumis and Lumis went head first into a mirror
Grimes then returned to the CWC and there were two actors dressed as zombies who chased Grimes into the ring where Lumis attacked him Grimes locked up his finisher for the win
Grimes is a comedy guy while Lumis is supposed to be that scary character It’s interesting, because when you look at the viewership count these two wrestlers usually do low numbers so booking them together in a match will be something to follow if you like notes
Credit to WWE for at least reserving them with a gadget to perhaps increase fan curiosity about it
It happened after McAfee, who lost to Adam Cole a few months ago in a TakeOver special, made his comeback in the main event of last week’s show to help Lorcan and Burch to win the titles
McAfee did a promo on how he was beaten by Cole, he made some mistakes in this game and all he could think of was beat Cole He said he knew he couldn’t come back alone, but had to have some backup
He bragged about the success he’s had since So he made a call to Ridge Holland, who wanted a call This is why Holland attacked Cole at NXT TakeOver 31 This led to Pete Dunne and Kyle O’Reilly stepping out into the ring with steel chairs Dunne hit O’Reilly in the back with the chair
