In Australia, a massive crocodile emerged from the ocean to swallow a stranded shark. Yvonne Palmer was fishing from the beach on the Cassowary Coast in Far North Queensland this Sunday when she caught a few small sharks, reports the NZ Herald.
Ms. Palmer said she plans to release the sharks back into the sea when the 13-foot saltwater crocodile noticed them and apparently decided to make a meal out of them. « I just caught a shark that I couldn’t get back in the water because this guy came and now he’s coming and eating it, » she said.
The footage shared by Ms. Palmer shows the crocodile stunned Sneaking spectators out of the water and swallowing one of the two sharks. The footage has gone viral on social media and has been republished by several other sites. Check it out below: « I don’t understand why these people stand by the water when it’s full of crocodiles, » wrote a Facebook user.
According to news website Perth Now, the video is showing why fishing is banned in Far North Queensland, Australia. Since the video went viral, a new warning has been issued to remind beachgoers in Australia that feeding crocodiles is illegal.
