Granada welcomes Napoli to the UEFA Europa League round of 16 at Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes.
Granada is not in good shape, especially on the defensive. Granada have not won any of their last 4 games while losing 2 of these 4 games. Granada had a tough group in the Europa League but they did a solid job and they finished 2nd with 11 points, only 6 goals scored and only 3 goals conceded. Granada’s defense has been shaky lately and they have conceded 9 goals and scored 6 goals in the last 3 games. In their last La Liga game, Granada hosted Atletico Madrid. They only had 38% possession, 1 shot on goal, 7 corners, 1 big chance and only 63% correct passes. It wasn’t a great game for Granada but they drew in the 66th minute. Unfortunately for Granada, they conceded another goal in the 75th minute and lost that game 2-1. Suarez is Granada’s leading scorer in the Europa League with 2 goals. Lozano, Suarez, Milla, Soldado and Sanchez are injured for Granada. Some of these injuries are important to Granada, especially attacking, but there is nothing that can be done about it and Granada has to go all-in.
Napoli have won an impressive Serie A win against Juventus, and be Confidence is sky high now. Napoli had only 37% possession, 2 shots on goal, 3 corners, 1 big chance and 77% correct passes in this game. Napoli were patient in this game and their defense was superb. With a goal from the penalty spot in the 31st minute, Napoli won this game 1-0. Thanks to this victory, Napoli is back on track and is now fifth in Serie A with 40 points, 45 goals scored and 21 conceded goals. In the Europa League, Napoli had one of the toughest groups, a group in which we were didn’t see many goals but Napoli did a good job and they won this group with 11 points and 7 goals scored. and only conceded 4 goals. Politano is Napoli’s leading scorer in the Europa League with just 2 goals, while Zielinski added 1 goal and 1 assist. The injury list is pretty long for Napoli, and Mertens, Manolas, Lozano, Koulibaly, Ghoulam, Petagna, Hysay, Ospina and Demme are all on that list. Napoli are a good team but any injuries could seriously injure Napoli and they have a tough game against Atalanta in Serie A this weekend.
I’ve been thinking about giving Napoli a chance here, but Granada is a tough cookie and Napoli has a ton of injuries. Honestly, this game could go either way but I’ll try a draw for a good plus.
