Memphis Grizzlies electric young star Ja Morant suffered what appeared to be a serious injury less than three weeks ago.
The second year Murray State player denied a shot by network guard Timothe Luwawu on December 28th. Cabarrot in one game. Morant’s left foot landed on Luwawu-Cabarrot’s foot. Morant immediately jumped out of the court and was eventually brought to the locker room in a wheelchair.
Later that night, the Grizzlies announced that Morant had suffered a sprain in his left ankle. It used to be believed that it was tough enough to keep the young star off for at least a month.
Morant will brave all odds tonight. He’ll start for the Grizzlies when they play the Sixers on Saturday night. According to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, Morant had a 2nd degree ankle sprain less than three weeks ago and has been working hard to get back to court since then.

Memphis starts the season 5-6, which is currently good for 11th place in the Western Conference. There is still a lot of time to improve this early in the season. Morant’s return to court should help the Grizzlies keep looking for a playoff spot.
The Grizzlies will face the Sixers tonight at 8pm. ET. It will be Morant’s first game promotion since December 28th.
