A fast food restaurant in northeast Adelaide had to be evacuated Thursday evening after employees and customers were hit by an « unknown substance ».
Ridgehaven Hungry Jacks diners and workers started coughing and getting burning throats shortly after 8 p.m.
The MFS Hazmat team was sent to the restaurant because of an originally suspected gas leak.
After the gas leak was ruled out by the MFS, further investigation revealed that the allergic reactions were caused by a substance similar to pepper spray.
