Earlier, Arnab’s lawyer said that « he had a prior injury to his hand, which the Band-Aid police removed. » His arrest was not informed to his wife but it was written in his arrest panchnama that he was told. He was pulled from the belt and hit his back, injuring him. He has appealed to the citizens of India to support him in this matter. « 

After his arrest, the Maharashtra police took him to Raigad police station and said that he has been arrested under the charge of abetment to suicide in the 2018 Anvay Naik case.
