World news – Inside Machine Gun Kelly’s Life, Career, and Romance with Megan Fox

With A-list hosts, musicians and guests visiting Saturday Night Live every week, it is very important to impress the 30 Rock staff. But that’s exactly what Machine Gun Kelly – the rock-turned rapper who first played the show on January 30th – did.

« There aren’t a lot of people here [because of COVID], » said a 30- Rock staff, « and they’re usually all pretty blasé. But this guy got a bit of a buzz. » In fact, few people are going any higher this week than the six-foot-four, ultra-tattooed Colson Baker – the real name of the 30-year-old star – who walked the catwalk for John Varvatos and could be a model if he wasn’t. I’m not busy with an album # 1 (« Tickets to My Downfall », his fifth LP) , a hot acting career and maybe an engagement finger from girlfriend Megan Fox. As reported on page 6, the actress was seen on Thursday in New York City with a « giant sparkler ».

Baker looked relaxed in Manhattan when paparazzi took photos of him and Fox outside of 30 rock do ten – where he’s working with his close pal and « The Dirt » co-star Pete Davidson this week – but then again, he may be in no hurry to get married. Fox is reportedly still married to her 10-year-old husband, « 90210 » actor Brian Austin Green, with whom she shares three sons, despite filing for divorce in November, saying they had each other a year earlier apart.

She met Baker, who uses his real name as an actor, on the set of the movie « Midnight in the Switchgrass » in March and they practically did a sport with Instagram PDA.

In August, she released one Photo of himself and Baker, both lightly dressed, and labeled: « Painfully beautiful boy … My heart is yours. »

Green fired back by posting a photo of his sons with the seemingly derisive caption « Painfully beautiful boys .. . my heart is yours « posted.

But Baker – who was previously romantically linked to Amber Rose singers Halsey and Demi Lovato and Kanye West – is not easily embarrassed. This is a man who once got hooked on a porn star at a concert.

Fox said of Baker on the “Give Them Lala” podcast last year that she “knew immediately that he was what I am a twin flame call. Instead of a soul mate, a twin flame is actually the place where a soul has ascended to a level high enough to be divided into two different bodies at the same time. “

Having a Hollywood sex symbol above you didn’t seem to be on the cards for Baker, who rose to fame around 2011 as Eminem Lite. Like the Detroit rapper, he shared a backstory about a rough life that inspired songs of vulnerability and depression, and defiance and ambition.

Most interviews with Baker say he was the son of missionaries who made the world as a child and that he later moved to Denver and then to the East Side of Cleveland, where he ended up in the ghetto.

But his real background is more somber. His father, James Colson Baker, was a childhood human resource manager at companies like Amoco, PepsiCo, and Hewlett Packard. James worked briefly for Amoco in Cairo, but his missionary work doesn’t seem to have taken place until Baker was in high school.

Baker’s mother is an epidemiologist with a PhD in veterinary tomology, but otherwise a mystery. Sources told The Post that she and Baker’s father had lived in Texas around 1998 when Baker was 8 and decided to liquidate all of their fortune and go overseas as missionaries.

But at the airport, Bakers refused Mom going and telling her husband that she was leaving him for another man she later married, a relative told the Post.

I don’t think rap was [Machine Gun Kelly] ‘s endgame. He’s living his real dream now. The hot girlfriend, the acting career.

It is unclear whether Baker had a relationship with his mother afterwards. Calls and emails to his mother and stepfather went unanswered. Both his maternal uncle and a man in his maternal grandmother’s house hung up when the name « Colson Baker » was mentioned.

« I come from a father who was extremely religious and extremely strict and I didn’t even get my pen Hold the way I wanted to hold my pen, « Baker said. « It got me completely rebelled and completely cut communications because I didn’t want anything in common with him. » Elizabeth Brandl, an Illinois teacher who worked with and was friends with James Colson Baker, recalled him as « the perfect leader with a smile that would turn the sun off.

But the next day you would meet him and it was like he was just collapsing, » Brandl told the Post. “He had no confidence. He came from a tiny farming community and could have gone that far. He talked about marrying this fabulous girl. Then she left him and broke his heart. “

James, who had studied theology, got more religious after his wife left, Brandl said. He and his son clashed so often that Baker often left the house, « living hand to mouth and with friends, » she said.

Baker was nicknamed Machine Gun Kelly for his rap style and was released in 2006 first mix tape. In 2009, he won the amateur night at Harlem’s Apollo – the first rapper to do so.

From there he was discovered by Sean « Diddy » Combs and Jimmy Iovine, who signed Baker to Interscope Records.

Im In 2011, Baker became known for a mixtape called « Lace Up » which has become a fanatic movement that means getting ready and showing up no matter what. For Baker, that ethos began when he became a parent at just 18, when his high school friend Emma gave birth to daughter Casie – now 12 – and her father’s frequent travel companion.

Online fans rave about it of how Machine Gun Kelly’s songs about trying to overcome substance abuse – he talked about being addicted to Adderall – and sometimes suicidal desperation helped them.

Baker was known for doing a PR stunt with Eminem who helped the younger rapper. In 2012, Baker tweeted that Eminem’s then 16-year-old daughter Hailie was « hot as F – K ». In 2018, Eminem dropped a devastating diss track, « Not Alike ». Baker followed up with his own response, « Rap Devil, » which said Eminem owned him with « Killshot. »

« MGK is pretty brilliant, » a music manager who has watched him since his early days in Cleveland told The Post.

“He dreamed of making it big and as a rapper he started getting there. He said who is the giant in this game? I’ll poke this bear until I get a reaction and get noticed. It worked. Eminem noticed and he reacted … But I don’t think rap [Baker’s] was the endgame. He’s living his real dream now. The hot girlfriend, the acting career. He has achieved his success with both psychology and talent. Indeed, in the 2014 film Beyond the Lights, Baker went from rapper to roles in Bird Box, the Showtime series Roadies and Big Time Adolescence, and The King of Staten Island « – the latter two – switched films with his close friend Pete Davidson.

Despite the rocky relationship with his father when James fell ill in 2019, Baker tweeted, » I should have told him I loved him years ago Breaks my heart we’ve wasted all this time. « After James passed away in July, Baker tweeted that he » has never felt pain this deep in my life. «

» I remember When I was a kid watching SNL every weekend with my aunt and dad, « he tweeted. » Since they don’t see that moment here, I’ll be performing the song I wrote for them on the show. Hopefully I feel them there. «
