Jamie Foxx’s longtime biopic of Mike Tyson on the big screen is climbing back into the ring – as a limited edition.
The Oscar winner has pledged to play in Tyson, an authorized limited series about the boxing legend, which Martin Scorsese counts as an executive producer. Antoine Fuqua (Training Day) is supposed to direct as well as EP. Tyson will also serve as the EP for the project, written by Colin Preston.
The series, which is due to hit the market soon, will encompass the life of one of the most iconic boxing characters of all time.
« I have Trying to tell my story for some time, « Tyson said in a statement. « I look forward to working with Martin, Antoine, Jamie and the entire creative team to bring the audience a series that not only captures my professional and personal journey, but also inspires and entertains. »
The news is on a month after Hulu announced it was working on its own – albeit unauthorized – Tyson-centric limited series from I, Tonya screenwriter Steven Rogers.
In Living Color, alum Foxx will be in return to the small screen of the new Netflix sitcom Dad Stop Embarrassing Me (no less than four reels)! (Watch trailer).
