And in true JLo style, the singer gave the song her own touch when she added: « One nation, with freedom and justice for all » in her native Spanish. She sang America the Beautiful based on Guthrie’s classic, including excerpts from her 1999 hit, Let’s Get Loud, and her passionate Spanish embassy.
Jennifer wore an all-white ensemble and sang her heart in front of President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and millions who watched on television. JLo’s decision to sing a line in Spanish touched millions of people around the world as they rushed onto social media to share their emotions after hearing the performance.
