The great recipient Josh Gordon, who has been banned from the NFL and its various teams seven times, is joining the Fan Controlled Football League, according to Bob Menery, co-owner of the Zappers team.
Gordon becomes a teammate of the former NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel in the newly formed indoor league, in which fans access the games via the Twitch app. Week 3 of the six-week season is played on Saturday evening. The four-team league plays all of its games in Duluth, Georgia, northeast of Atlanta.
« Look, we’re 0-2. I can’t have that, » wrote Menery, a comedian who’s comedian sportscaster Performs routines on social media, on Twitter. “So I brought in a few of the guys who are better at playing pick-up ball than anyone out there.”
Gordon last played for the Seahawks in 2019. He’s got three lost full seasons (2015, 2016, 2020) to bans. His seven total suspensions include league and team-issued disciplines, most of which are for repeated drug abuse policy violations.
It looked like this as if Gordon could play in the NFL late last season when he was inducted into the Seahawks’ list after being reinstated by the NFL on December 3. But his conditional return was voided and he was listed on January 15, according to the NFL Network on unb Suspended for a certain time.
