Jurgen Klopp has revealed more details about Sadio Mane’s absence for Sunday’s Premier League meeting with West Ham United.
The striker was not in the London Stadium squad due to a minor muscle injury sustained against Tottenham Hotspur during the week.
« It happened a few days ago in the game against Tottenham, » said the boss opposite Sky Sports. « Nothing too serious, but serious enough not to be involved today. »
Roberto Firmino slumped on the bench for the game against the Hammers, and Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri joined Mohamed Salah in attack.
« It’s been less than 72 hours that we’re playing [again] – nobody wants to hear, but it is. We have to try to make sure the boys have the best possible rest.
