World news – Knicks’ Austin Rivers faces an uncertain future and is nowhere to be seen on the bench

Austin Rivers, who has called his future with the Knicks uncertain, was not seen on the bench in the garden during part of their 110-107 victory over the Pacers on Saturday night.

Rivers went out of rotation taken when the Knicks acquired Derrick Rose in a trade earlier this month. In another bad twist, Rivers was bypassed for Frank Ntilikina in Thursday’s victory over the Kings after Elfrid Payton sustained a hamstring injury.

A Knicks official said Rivers was in the garden but was leaving behind with a sore ankle treated. Rivers was not listed in the pregame injury report submitted to the NBA. In the boxing standings, Rivers was listed with a DNP coach decision.

Earlier this week, Rivers said of his situation: « I can’t control whether I’m being traded today, tomorrow or the next day. What I control is how I am as a player. «

Rivers has made two cameos for five minutes in Garbage Time in the last nine games. Against Sacramento, he was the only Knick that didn’t come into play.

Interestingly, Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau said after Taj Gibson sprained an ankle on Saturday that President Leon Rose « will investigate available players. » The Knicks might be able to forego a player to sign a center.

Rivers was signed to a three-year deal in November, but only the first is guaranteed. He has played in 21 games.
