World news – Listen to Episode 38 of Big Apple Buckets: Should the Knicks Make a Trade?

The Knicks had a couple of heavy losses for the Sixers over the past week. Julius Randle has vented his frustrations with a bad job. However, the Knicks All-Star striker and the company have to put Sunday’s heartbreaker in the rearview mirror. They have two games against the lowly wizards that they really need to win before the schedule gets tricky with fewer than 30 games remaining in the regular season. Will Randle have one or more new teammates by the end of the week?

To talk about the trading deadline and whether the Knicks should take a step and everything else that’s going on with Tom Thibodeau’s team, we’re bringing you a new episode of the Big Apple Buckets podcast starring Sal Licata and Jerome « The Junk Yard Dog » Williams, who tells the story of JYD at the time he was traded from the Pistons to the Raptors in 2001.

JYD tells the wild story in 2001 when the Pistons sold him to the Raptors at close of trade. He found out about it on the phone from a reporter before his agent called him. He was at a funeral for his teammate’s brother Mateen Cleaves that day. He drove from Detroit to Toronto in the middle of a snow storm to get to the first practice session. His Raptors team beat the Knicks in the 2001 playoffs before losing to the Sixers in the seventh game of the Eastern Conference semifinals, which Tim Donaghy led.
