According to Scott Morrison, there is no longer a set schedule for all Australians to receive their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine.

Previously, the Prime Minister had set himself the goal that all Australians receive their first dose by October. The government was also aiming for 4 million doses by the end of March, but these were later revised by the end of April, and we stand by both goals.

AAP reports that approximately 1.1 million doses have been given, but Morrison has refused to set a target for the rollout.

« The government has … neither set nor plans to set new targets for completing the first cans, » he said.

« Although we would like these If doses are completed before the end of the year, given the many uncertainties involved, it is impossible to set such targets. «

The vaccination program has been delayed due to international supply problems, natural disasters such as the New South Wales floods and mistakes. Many general practitioners complained of poor organization.

Late last week, the rollout was further delayed with the recommendation by the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (Atagi) that Pfizer should be preferred to AstraZeneca for people under 50 due to the risk of rare blood clots.

Australia has a contract for 20 million Pfizer doses, but not all of them have arrived – and recently announced another 20 million will arrive, but not before the final quarter of the year.

Former soldier Ben Roberts-Smith will continue his role on the Seven Network, as the broadcaster announced last night.

Last night, Nines 60 Minutes and Nine Newspapers published a series of joint reports on the former Victoria Cross recipient who sued Nine and reporter Nick McKenzie for defamation.

« Mr Roberts-Smith denies he engaged in unlawful conduct and he will not be intimidated by Mr McKenzie or Nine into not continuing the federal trial against them, » the statement said.

To the extent that most of the material broadcast is old, Seven states that it is in federal court and that legal process should be obeyed. Insofar as new allegations are made, they do not appear to be supported by evidence.

In these circumstances, Seven need not reconsider his position with regard to Mr. Roberts Smith and him, who maintain his position.
