Injuries to Eric Bailly did not help either, but it is clear the Red Devils’ backline needs to be reworked.
The Sun reports that talks are under way to get Bailly an extension of his current contract.
The Norwegian does not seem to be resting on his laurels, however, as three defensive goals are being considered.
Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig, Ben White from Brighton and the highly rated Seville star Jules Kounde stand according to The Sun on the shopping list.

All three appear to be an upgrade to what United already has on the ground, and if the Old Trafford team are really looking to compete for honors, there is an urgent need to step up the defense.
By the three, White seems to be the favorite, simply because of his experience in the English top class.
