LUKE SHAW, after his formidable form, will sign a lucrative new contract with Manchester United this season.
The left-back was as good as outside after years of injuries and poor form at Old Trafford, but turned him around under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
His performances this season got him a recall from England for World Cup qualifiers brought against San Marino, Albania and Poland.
According to the Mirror, the club bosses are preparing a new contract for Shaw, although there are still two years to fulfill his current agreement of £ 150,000 a week.
In that Report says Solskajer indicated that Shaw is an integral part of his future plans and that he will receive a raise to keep him with the clu’s top earners bs.
Goalkeeper David de Gea is United’s top earner at £ 375,000 a week, but his future at Old Trafford looks uncertain.
Paul Pogba is the second highest at £ 290,000 a week, Anthony Martial raises £ 250,000.
Shaw’s shows this season mean United are finally making a good return on the £ 34million they paid Southampton in 2014 when he was a teenager.
And him admitted this week that until this season he had lost all hope of a recall from England.
He told United’s official website: « Sometimes I’ve made bad mistakes and withdrew from the squads, maybe to Times when I shouldn’t have done it. » That was up to me.
“Of course I had bad times back then. I had in the back of my mind, especially my family and girlfriend, they thought it was done.
“At the start of the season I had ambitions and sat down with my girlfriend and said I wanted to get back to the English squad and do anything to be there again.
« You know, of course with my form I thought that there was a greater chance than ever that I could be there again.
» Gareth was happy to give me another opportunity to get involved there I am just very happy and honored to be selected again. Hopefully I can show Gareth why I deserve a place on the squad. «
