Oklahoma State (9.5) over Baylor: I don’t care that the bears won both regular season meetings with an average of 13 points. I don’t even care that I play the team I expect to win the national championship. For the most talented player in the country (Cade Cunningham) and a squad with four wins against ranked teams in the last five games, receiving 9.5 points is a gift.
Seton Hall (-3) on Georgetown: The Hoyas were lucky enough to face a limping top seed in the quarterfinals, but Patrick Ewing’s first Big East run since 1985 ends here. As with Seton Hall’s win over the Johnnies in extra time, the Pirates’ post-season experience will make all the difference to a Georgetown team that is not used to high stakes.
Georgia Tech (4½) versus Virginia : The Cavaliers played both regular season matchups but are now at their peak in front of the fast-paced and surprising yellow jackets after winning seven games in a row to take their first NCAA tournament spot in 11 years. After two overwhelming efforts against Virginia this season, ACC Player of the Year will deliver Moses Wright.
Cincinnati, 6 on SMU: I can’t get the feel of the shot or the shape of a team that hasn’t played since February 8th has, just do not trust it. It doesn’t sound like Mustangs trainer Tim Jankovich either after several COVID-related games, breaks in the program and in the final drills without enough players to play five on five.
