A massive rock fall on Friday morning blocked all lanes of Highway 50 at Echo Summit, and according to the California Highway Patrol, at least one vehicle collided with the large boulders that covered the pavement.
The slide occurred around 5: 45 p.m. near Dry Bridge in El Dorado County and hit a passing Toyota Forerunner which overturned, the CHP said.
All lanes on Highway 50 were blocked, and Caltrans was working on reopening the lanes with an estimated Period between 11:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., announced the CHP.
Alternative routes should be used, and the CHP advises motorists to avoid Highway 50 at the Echo Summit.
