World news – Morris leaves Sharks after the Fitzgibbon deal

0

John Morris and the Cronulla Sharks split immediately after the Sharks and Craig Fitzgibbon reached an agreement on a three-year deal.

Morris’ departure means an interim coach will lead Cronulla for the remainder of the season, with Josh Hannay the likely option at this point.

Fitzgibbon, whose deal begins in 2022, is hoping to bring Cameron Ciraldo to the club, with the Panthers’ assistant coach being highly regarded.

Fitzgibbon is currently a valued assistant coach at the Roosters and worked for Trent Robinson at the club’s three premierships in 2013, 2018 and 2019.

After such a long and successful training, he always got a chance as head coach and the Sharks convinced him to take her with him.
